2014 Pensacola Beach Brawl: Gracie Ferguson, All-Female Scaled Team

Gracie is the top junior high cross country runner on the Mississippi Coast. She won the 2013 junior high district cross country meet and she is undefeated so far this season.

There’s never a dull moment when Gracie Ferguson is around. She uses her big personality and theatrics at the gym to entertain all the Bandit kids. Not only is Gracie one of Bandit’s resident baby-sitters, but she is a multi-sport athlete and member of our Bandit Teen Athlete class. She’s also highly intelligent and an honor roll student at North Woolmarket Middle School. Gracie has scored “advanced” in both math and language on her state tests every year since 3rd grade.

This will be Gracie’s second CrossFit competion. When she was 10 years old, she competed in the beginner’s division, amongst grown women, at the Pound for Pound in Montgomery, Ala. where she was 9th place overall. Outside of Cross Country and local road races, Gracie plays soccer for North Woolmarket Middle School, and has run several obstacle races, including two Spartan Races. Of all her many talents, Gracie’s passion is running. She hopes to continue her running career in college.

Gracie will be representing Bandit CrossFit this Sunday at the Pensacola Beach Brawl along with three other Bandit Teen Athletes in the ladies scaled team division: Casey Ferguson (sophomore), Kayli White (freshman), and Brooke Trochesset (junior). Similar to her first competition, Gracie will be competing amongst grown women. We are very proud of Gracie and her team and their fearlessness in taking on this experience. More about Gracie:

How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I’ve been doing crossfit for 1 year.

What is your competitive CrossFit experience?
I competed once when I was 10 years old at a competition that my mom was competing in. It was in the beginner’s division. I was competing with grown ups, and I got 9th place overall.

Why did you choose the Beach Brawl?
I chose the Beach Brawl because my team mates needed me.

What do you hope to achieve at the Beach Brawl?
My top goal in the Beach Brawl is to do the very best I can.

What exercise do you hope to see there?
The movement I hope to see is squats.

What exercise do you not want to see in the workouts?
I don’t want to see wall balls.

What makes you want to do CrossFit?
I do CrossFit because my mom owns the gym and she inspired me to do CrossFit.

Why do choose Bandit CrossFit?
I like seeing everybody at the gym most. I chose Bandit CrossFit because my mom owns the gym. But, I really like the people there. I feel like I have a whole bunch of moms, dads, sisters and brothers that take care of me and love me there.

The Bandit Teens are serious about fitness. Pictured are three of the Bandit Teens representing us this Sunday in the scaled ladies team division: (l-r) Brooke Trochesset, Casey Ferguson, Gracie Ferguson.
